Canadian branch getting rid of their trucks and drivers
by wannaexit ina recent letter to the elders outlined the new arrangement for delivering literature to the congregations.
the canadian branch will be downsizing by eliminating drivers and trucks and utilizing commercial carriers to bring the boxes of monthly literature .
more outsourcing and more lay offs.. the funny thing about it is that they want to have the literature delivered to various private homes of the rank and file rather than have the literature delivered to the kingdom hall.

I don't know, I just don't get it. The whole idea of cutbacks is to save money, by laying unfortunate ones off to save costs. But then to go and spend even more money to have a private firm do it, strange. -

Getting rid of disfellowshipping?
by BashfulAshG inif they did that, it would be the end of the jws because they won't have members.
when will be the end of this religion?

they can never get rid of disfellowshipping because it's one of their greatest control mechanisms right up there with Armaggedon!! -

I might say after sitting through this 3-day assembly, I will say that this was probably the most thought-controlling, thought-inducing, manipulative assemblies of all time. Seems like they are really tightening the leg irons. -

Dubs avoided like the plague
by hoser ini went to the restaraunt in a small town where i work and sometimes live and there were some jws there for lunch break out in service.
it is amazing to watch the locals sit as far away as they can from the table of jws.
some actually sat at a near table then loved tables when they realized jws were sitting near them.

I can't remember where I read somewhere the other day. But one of the posters on here mentioned that the governing body could make mention that the GT is starting and to send all of the rank and file material things and valuables to the society as the rank and file will no longer need those things anymore. I can see this becoming more and more likely.
They could use the card ''we may be given instructions which may not seem strategic from a standpoint but we must be ready to obey''. That statement can just give you the chills.

Big Concepts That JWs Won't Even Allow Themselves To Consider
by JW_Rogue inbecause of the belief that the bible is quite literally the word god jws must shut out many logical concepts and theories.
it's not just evolution although that is a large one.
i know when i was in there were certain concepts that made sense to me but i would try not to think about them too much.

Some concepts which I really though about were;
Worldwide flood??? I mean so many things around the World prove otherwise.
Extraterrestrial life.
Blood policy
Evolution. When you here about fossils and certain other things found. Even things in humans like wisdom teeth, and how our jaw bone is ''supposedly gotten smaller over time''

RC musings - my impressions
by Doubting Bro inso i went to the rc this past weekend and have a few observations:.
1 - use of videos - most parts had some sort of video prop.
they ranged from awkward (an example was on friday where they showed scenes of nature without a real purpose other than god made this) to very well done.

lol, ''spiritually sluggish'' people like myself and others may not make it through the big 'A' then. -

Thanks Doubting Bro,
I must have missed that part as I was just too lazy to sit there for that symposium, I had to get out for some fresh air in the parking lot, walk around or something.

Doubting Bro;
I'm just curious as to what day or when they had those parts at the Convention to men who were not MS or Elders. I can't recall hearing anything about that from our Convention.

Tax-exempt Status of Churches and the Gay Marriage Decision
by lambsbottom init will be interesting to see what will happen with the "beloved" 501c3 tax exempt status which the churches hold so dearly onto.
the first-century christians met in homes.
they did not have exemption from taxes to the governments.

the implications of this could be more than one first realizes.
